In-Person Professional Development in Germany

The Goethe-Institut in the USA awards scholarships for participation in language courses and professional development seminars (e.g. cultural studies; German as a foreign language theory and practice) in Germany.

You can apply for a scholarship from the Goethe-Institut if you are a teacher of German as a foreign language or are involved in the teacher training of such teachers; this also applies if you work at a PASCH school.

The link to the courses and seminars in Germany can be found here: https://www.goethe.de/de/spr/unt/for/kur/f22.html

Scholarship applications for 2022 are found below. The application deadline is 10/15/2021.

COVID-19 notice:
If in person events cannot take place in the summer of 2022, the currently planned in-person professional development seminars in Germany will take place in digital format. Should you receive a scholarship, we will inform you of the decision to switch to the digital format by the end of January 2022.

We thank you for your understanding, should a switch to completely online professional development seminars be necessary in light of the current situation.

  • Should you be applying for an MDO distance learning course, you will need solid PC and Internet skills with regular access to a high-speed Internet connection at home or at work.
