Wortspiel on Tour

"Creative with language" – Under this motto, four young artists from Germany tour along the East Coast of the US in October 2018 with their program 'Wortspiel' ('Word Play').

Four young Germans of the artists' collective 'Zeilenschmiede' work with students of German at schools and universities in New England, New York City and Virginia. They offer workshops in creative writing, song writing and improvisation theater. The students literally turn creative with language: They collect words and associations, make up stories based on images, learn about the basics of a successful song, discover the rhythm of the German language and interact in freely improvised dialogues in German. Within only a few hours, the workshops produce results which are presented in a show with professional support from the artists.
