AATG VA Immersion Weekend 2018

The AATG-VA will hold its’ annual immersion weekend for German teachers at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA on 17/18th of March. The topic for the weekend is “Theater in the German language classroom” and will be led by Dr. Sabine Gross (University of Wisconsin-Madison). Because of the many different activities planned, it will be an amazing event! In addition, the Goethe-Institut will offer an overview of our services for teachers and students of German and share information on new projects.

SCOLT 2018 in Atlanta

The Goethe-Institut once again looks forward to participating at this year’s Southern Conference On Language Teaching (SCOLT) in Atlanta. Stop by and chat with us at table #10 and come to our session on Friday (2:00 – 2:50pm) to hear about our new projects and offers for teachers and learners of German. In addition, help us celebrate the recipient of this year's Goethe-Institut SCOLT award for a 2 week professional development in Germany this summer.

NSBA Conference 2018 in San Antonio

The Goethe-Institut will be a first-time exhibitor at the National School Boards Association (NSBA) Annual Conference 2018 in San Antonio. Visit us at booth #932 to talk with representatives from Goethe-Institutes in the US about our projects and goals concerning German as a foreign language in the US educational system. Learn more about the advantages of knowing German, and be inspired to offer and expand the teaching of German at your school(s).

ASCA Conference 2018 in Los Angeles

The Goethe-Institut will be a first-time exhibitor at this year's American School Counselor Association (ASCA) in Los Angeles. Visit us at booth #106 to talk with representatives from Goethe-Institutes in the US about our projects and goals concerning German as a foreign language in the US educational system. Learn more about the situation of German as a foreign language in the US, the advantages of knowing German and how to best make a case for foreign language education overall.

 2018 the Goethe-Instituts are once again organizing Career Days for High School and college students in multiple cities throughout the USA. Take a look at when a Career Day in your area is taking place and make sure to plan the attendance for you or your entire class.

PASCH Summer Camp in Portland

You can make a difference! This is the motto of this year’s summer camp by the initiative “Schools: Partners of the Future” (PASCH) in Portland, Oregon. For one week, students from the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America will come together to collaborate on projects while incorporating media such as theater, photography and music. Date: July 8-15, 2018.
