Two Leipzig youth choirs perform with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra
The Bachfest Leipzig 2018 will feature a special collaboration between the Leipzig Opera Youth Choir and Leipzig Gewandhaus Youth Choir and the Chamber Orchestra of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) under the direction of conductor Federico Cortese. This international encounter will focus on an historically-informed performance of works of Bach in addition to other composers.
An important part of the project is the personal encounter of the young musicians. They will host each other and get to know German and American family life. An accompanying cultural program will intensify the encounters of young singers and musicians of both nationalities.
The results of the first rehearsal phase will be performed at Symphony Hall – within the frame of 60th anniversary of BYSO - with a program:
