Registration for Fall Courses 2018:

For your convenience, our offices will be open from 7:30 am – 7:00 pm on September 5 and 6, 2018. If you have questions about our classes, or if you need a placement test, feel free to stop by! We are happy to help you find the appropriate course!

Returning students are able to sign up online for the next course level. Of course, it is always possible to fill out a registration form in class and drop it off or send it in (together with your payment).

New students can sign up online if they have no previous knowledge of German and wish to register for the first Beginners class (A 1.1).
Payment in full is due at time of registration.

New students with previous knowledge of German are asked to contact our Language Department office in order to take a placement test. It is not possible for new students with previous knowledge of German to register online without having taken the placement test.

Interested new students with previous knowledge of German are asked to fill out our placement test and return it to us by email, fax, or postal mail a few days prior to registration, if possible. Together with a short oral interview at registration, it will help us determine which course is the most appropriate for you. Please contact us if you need to take a placement test.
Students registering for the first time for a class at the Goethe-Institut Chicago must submit a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $20. This registration fee must be submitted together with the course payment. Payment of course fee is due at the time of registration. Payment can be made in cash, by check or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

If you would like to take advantage of our „Early Bird“ and/or „returning student“ discount in the amount of $ 30, please register by August 15.  Please note that you can only receive one $30 discount per class and we must receive your registration form and payment by August 15.

Discounts are not available for the German Immersion Day and/or the B 1+ Grammatik and Landeskunde class.

During vacation time in August, it is possible that your registration may not be confirmed right away.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
