On Stage With Goethe!

In order to reward and motivate German language students, the Goethe-Institut Chicago invites students who are interested in acting to participate in our German theater competition.
Participation is open to high school students between the ages of 14 and 17 (no high school seniors, please). German classes, drama groups or German clubs can compete.
The supervising teacher will register groups of up to four students. The students will stage one of the fairy tales selected by the Goethe-Institut and record their performance. The groups submit their recordings on a USB stick or DVD (recordings should last between 8 to 10 minutes). You can also upload your clips to a google document and invite Katja.Fullard@goethe.de  to see it. Please make sure that for each submission, you provide the names of the participants, the school and the teacher..

Pick one of the following fairy tales:
Tischlein-deck-dich
Hans im Glück

The groups can either stage the entire fairy tale in the given time frame, or different groups can perform different parts of the fairy tale.
The three best groups will be invited to participate in a three day theater workshop in Chicago. The workshop will take place at the Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL from June 17 - June 20, 2017. All expenses will be paid by the Goethe-Institut. The workshop will be conducted by a Professor Susanne Even, Indiana University who is an expert in drama pedagogy..

The extended deadline for video submissions is April 30, 2017.
