In November and December, Goethe Pop Up Seattle will exhibit a selection of paintings by Joe Shlichta. Shlichta is a Seattle-based artist of German descent. His oil paintings draw from European painting traditions, and blur the boundary between abstraction and representation.
Shlichta's current body of work was inspired by industrial scenes around the Seattle area. He was educated at Otis Art institute in Los Angeles and Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Shlichta has exhibited at numerous local and national galleries, and his work is in public and private collections.
