Live Performance by Legends of Berlin’s Post-Punk Scene

hackedepicciotto is Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto.

Both are legends of their own making: De Picciotto, born in Tacoma, WA, moved to West Berlin in the eighties to become the lead singer of the band Space Cowboys, the co-initiator of the Love Parade with Dr. Motte, and a collaborator of the Ocean Club with Gudrun Gut of Mania D and Malaria!. A lover of instruments with unusual sounds, she plays the hurdy-gurdy, autoharp, and kemenche.

Hacke is a founding member and bass player of Einstürzende Neubauten, an experimental music group that helped pioneer industrial music with an avant-garde mix of white-noise guitar drones and clanging, rhythmic din produced by percussion sections consisting of power tools and metal objects.

Together, they have creatively interacted with countless international projects for almost two decades now, while at the same time regularly releasing their own compositions. Specializing in unusual instruments, they create beautiful, existentialistic, and acoustic soundscapes.

We are looking forward to partnering with Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery to bring you an intimate live performance that promises to leave you shaken but overjoyed.
