Goethe Pop Up Seattle

Artist Talk with Legends of Berlin’s Post-Punk Scene

Danielle de Picciotto und Alexander Hacke can rightfully be called legends of Berlin’s post-punk scene through theircreative work.

De Picciotto, born in Tacoma WA, moved from NYC to West-Berlin in 1987. She became the singer of the band Space Cowboys, co-founder of the Love Parade, a collaborator in Gudrun Gut´s Ocean Club and from 2000 onwards Hacke’s “accomplice.” Hacke is a founding member and bass player of the Einstürzende Neubauten. Over the last two decades, the artist couple, who married in 2006, has been involved in numerous international projects and album releases.

At the Goethe Pop Up Seattle, the artists speak about their involvement in Berlin's cultural scene from 1980 to today, their decision to become nomads, and their current creative projects. They will show and discuss videos, photos, and sound samples of their projects.

The artist talk takes place at the Goethe Pop Up Seattle in partnership with Fantagraphics.

This event is free and open to the public. Please register at
