After 30 years, the brothers Georg and Christian meet again at their father’s funeral. They have little to say to each other. Georg cared for their seriously ill father; Christian carved out a career and is back home for the first time in decades. After a night of drinking, they decide impulsively to make a teenage dream reality: a cross-country trip through Germany on their old mopeds limited to 25 kilometers per hour, but nevertheless fueled by sex, drugs, and ping-pong.

In 2018, Markus Goller turned Oliver Ziegenbalg’s script into this film. The film is their first collaboration since their box-office hit Friendship (2010). 25 km/h reached more than one million viewers and was nominated at the German Film Awards for Best Feature Film.

This event is part of the Film Festival “…and the winners are…” - a joint project by the Goethe-Institut and the German Film Academy. In Seattle, the series takes place in the frame of the Year of German-American Friendship and is co-organized by the Goethe Pop Up Seattle with local partners NWFF and SIFF.
