Choreographer Maurice Béjart, who died in 2007, adapted Beethoven's Ninth Symphony as an energetic ballet version in which dance and Beethoven go hand in hand.

Spanish director Arantxa Aguirre accompanied the rehearsals for a performance of Béjart’s piece in Japan over a period of nine months. Her documentary film Dancing Beethoven portrays the creation process, illustrates the mental and physical trials that the actors go through during the preparation, and functions also as a homage to Maurice Béjart, Beethoven, and the arts.

The film will be available to stream on Vimeo for one week from Friday, May 29tht at 4:00 pm (CDT) to Thursday, June 4th at 4:00 pm (CDT).
