Kathi (Stremler) is 30, a single mother and a struggling actress who can never seem to break through, no matter how many casting sessions she attends. Despite her best efforts, Kathi can’t seem to get her life in order. Her mother, Chris (Lothar) on the other hand, is a successful psychologist, who belittles Kathi’s career choice and constantly shares pieces of advice, in the hope that Kathi will finally pull herself out of her rut. One day, Kathi's father suddenly appears after 15 years of absence and wants to reunite the family. Confronted with the past, Kathi gets the unexpected chance to address the ongoing conflict with her mother and to set new goals for her future.
