Launch: New Project Space Goethe-Institut Los Angeles

It is an exciting time for the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles: The German cultural institute is moving into its new home, an interdisciplinary project space in the diverse MacArthur Park neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles. “Our new surroundings promise to be a rich source of inspiration for our work,” says Director Lien Heidenreich-Seleme. “Los Angeles is always on the move. The city’s cultural centers are constantly changing. With our move to downtown, and the new project space, we are reaching out to local partners and new audiences. We look forward to being a part of the community and hope that we will become a platform for the diverse cultures in the neighborhood and the greater Los Angeles area.”

For the opening on October 9, the space will host a light art installation by the Berlin-based collective Pfadfinderei. Live music and DJs in cooperation with dublab include music sensations Teebs (Live), Dustin Wong (Live), DJ Kerry, and E Molina (DJ). Snacks will be provided by the German bakery Röckenwagner, local Chinese Diamond Buffet and Latinx restaurant Mama's Tamales.
