ARASH HANAEI—CAPITAL COMPLEX
MINI/Goethe-Institut Curatorial Residencies Ludlow 38 presents Paris-based artist Arash Hanaei's first solo exhibition in the United States from April 24 to June 5. Capital Complex recounts the dynamics of past and present in the city of Tehran in two digital drawing series featuring product advertisements and political propaganda.
MARTIN SUTER ON THE REAL AND THE FAKE IN LITERATURE AND ART
On May 4 at 6:30pm, Martin Suter reads from his novel The Last Weynfeldt (New Vessel Press, 2016), a gripping story about the international art world and art forgery. He will be in conversation with former museum director, Tom L. Freudenheim.
German Dual Language Symposium
This three-part event series on May 13 & 14 aims to encourage German bilingual program initiatives in the Tri-State Area by reaching out to teachers, school administrators, and parents. Experts discuss the benefits of bilingual instruction and the best strategies for starting and supporting dual language programs at public schools.
In this German-language summer theater camp from August 1-5 and August 8-12, teenagers aged 11 to 16 learn the ins and outs of theater as they work together to create and publicly perform their own play. Participants get the opportunity to try out different roles, improvise, and practice speaking on stage. Register by July 11 to get a 10% Early-Bird discount.
