Coronavirus contingency plan

Courses and Exams during the COVID-19 outbreak

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus named COVID-19. The illness originated in Wuhan, China, but has spread to other countries, including the United States.

This plan is now in effect.

From the start of the outbreak, the Goethe-Institut has been closely monitoring information from the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control. In order to prevent spreading of the virus during our language courses, we have prepared an emergency plan for ongoing and future language courses. For further information and up to date advice on the coronavirus, please check the website of the CDC or the New York State Department of Health.

Face-to-Face and Blended Courses

Courses with an in-person component will take place according to schedule. Instead of meeting in a classroom, the class will meet virtually through a conference tool. This means that students can continue learning without the danger of exposure through person to person contact. Our regular cancellation policy applies.

Online Course Offerings

We are expanding our online group courses with more starting dates. The next courses (A1-B1) start March 16, April 13 and May 25. We continue to offer online individual courses with flexible intensities at the A1-B1 and C1 levels. Additionally, you can book one-on-one sessions (A1-C2) through our virtual conferencing tool.
