Social distancing and working from home has led to us spending more time in our kitchens than ever. While recipes abound online and celebrity chefs post about their favorite ingredients, it can be intimidating to learn how to use spices in our own cooking. How do you pick which type of chili to use? How much garlic is too much? Do bay leaves really do anything?

In this workshop, Ori Zohar, co-founder of spice company Burlap & Barrel, will teach you how to incorporate and combine spices to make your food delicious. Along with exploring different flavor profiles, the spice flavor wheel, and techniques for using and storing spices, Zohar will also talk about the history of spices and how we might separate the contemporary spice trade and consumption from its colonial roots.

This workshop will be held online on Zoom - please RSVP to attend.
