Tatort has been a German cultural phenomenon. More than forty years later, the show remains as iconic among millennials as those who have been watching from the start. More than ten percent of Germany tunes in every Sunday, either at home or at one of the many public viewing events around the country. Each season features police teams steeped in local traditions, and the many authentic regional dialects, characteristics and conflicts depicted produce a rich and varied picture of German life.
