Katharina Blum is a young and pretty housekeeper, who can afford a small condo and a Volkswagen. She has a cheerful but modest personality, and is known as “the nun” because she recoils from the advances of forward men. She suddenly becomes infatuated with a young man who is a radical criminal wanted by the police. She helps him escape and unwittingly becomes the victim of tabloid sensationalism. The situation escalates, when the journalist Werner Tötges comes into her apartment….
