In conjunction with Tali Keren’s solo exhibition at Ludlow 38, Heat Signature, the artist has invited law Professor Ramzi Kassem for a dialogue at the gallery. Together Keren and Kassem will share their research and thoughts regarding national myths and national security; surveillance and legal rights; heat-based imagery, and counterterrorism policies and practices.

About the exhibition:

Heat Signature is a culmination of Tali Keren's on-going research on Judeo-Christian ideology and the military-industrial complex. Juxtaposing Thomas Jefferson's rejected 1776 design for the Great Seal of the United States with a FLIR Systems Inc. FC-R thermal camera, Keren underscores the inherent relations between American national myths, religious belief, and the quest for power and control.

Tali Keren is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York.

Professor Ramzi Kassem is Professor of Law at the City University of New York
