Radioeins live from New York – daily broadcast from 10:00am-1:00pm

From October 9 to October 12, radioeins from the German radio station Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb) in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut will be broadcasting for five hours daily from New York and San Francisco. Within the framework of “Radiobrücke USA”, radioeins will focus on the complex political, social and cultural situation in the US and on current changes.

Two radioeins hosts, Marie Kaiser and Stefan Rupp, will be broadcasting daily from 10:00am-1:00pm from the Goethe-Institut in Manhattan. They'll be reporting on everyday life in the vibrant metropolis, from glamor and gentrification. They'll also cover the political situation under President Donald Trump, with ARD correspondent Martin Ganslmeier providing a glimpse at the upcoming midterm elections. In the series "As a German in New York," we introduce people who have come to New York to live their dream, from start-up workers to kebab sellers. We are also interviewing Felix Zeltner, a young man who spent a year living with his family in a different neighborhood every month, effectively taking a trip around the world without ever leaving New York.

Radioeins reporters plunge into city life, reporting on Trump Tower, the difficult situation of taxi drivers, and New York's toughest basketball court. Prominent musicians such as We are Scientists and ex-Youth of Today singer Walter Schreifels will join us in the studio. There will be plenty of music from the diverse music scene in the city. Also present: two radioeins listeners who are exploring the city as radioeins ambassadors.

Pictures and films of Radiobrücke New York/San Francisco can be found at radioeins.de.

Please note that all broadcasts will be in German.
