The Goethe-Institut pops up in Kansas City – from Ocotber 2018 until November 2019, during the “Year of the German-American Friendship”. The Goethe Pop Up Kansas City presents events about German culture and language: we are preparing film showings, art exhibitions, concerts, guest performances of dance and theatre, readings, a language club or teacher trainings.
Also, drop by to speak German, read German newspapers or books and let your kids play with others in the German language. You can find us in the Crossroads as well as hosting events with our partners in the city. Be on the lookout for the logo of the Goethe Pop Up!

Program Assistant: Gabriel Freis
Gabriel comes to us from Portland, Oregon. After majoring in English and Creative Writing at Portland State University, he continued living in the Pacific Northwest before relocating to Kansas City with an interest in the Midwest’s burgeoning art and music scene. With a background in content writing and customer service, he hopes to discover new perspectives and connect with both local and international artists in the Crossroads Arts District. He looks forward to exploring both the physical and cultural landscapes of his new home throughout the next year.
