Lecture Germany 2017: What Lies Ahead? Lecture by Juliane Schäuble

Coalition building in a new party landscape. Influence of media old and new.

Germany has voted. And the outcome of this election is not only crucial for Europe, but also for the US. Will the new government in Berlin chose a different approach towards the Trump administration – and towards Putin’s Russia? Who are the ones in the new German government to look at from a US perspective? How about the country’s leading role in Europe: will it fulfill its obligations in the advancement of the European Union, in defense policy - and in dealing with the refugee crisis?
