Films and plays originally commissioned as part of the Plurality of Privacy Project in Five-Minute Plays (P3M5) will be presented in and around the venues of the Global Film Festival at the College of William & Mary. Several P3M5 films—including pieces from Sweden, Belgium, and Romania—will be shown in the Canon Shorts Program, at 1:00 pm on 2/24/2017. Live theatrical stagings of P3M5 plays will also be presented throughout the festival by the William & Mary Delta Nu Chapter of the Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honors Fraternity.

Now in its tenth year, the Global Film Festival features diverse screenings, live performances, and special events that highlight the work of international filmmakers, William & Mary community members, and emerging student talent from around the globe. Events take place at the Kimball Theatre in historic Colonial Williamsburg’s Merchants Square, adjacent to the college’s campus.

P3M5 is a groundbreaking transatlantic theater project focused on the value of privacy. In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Washington, theaters across the US and Europe have commissioned playwrights to write five-minute plays exploring the central question, “What does privacy mean to you in the digital age?” The resulting plays, and subsequent short films adapted from them, are being presented in different formats by a network of theaters, festivals, and other organizations between January 2017 and June 2018.
