On Christmas day, 12-year-old Kattaka finds out that her dad is not her biological father. Disappointed and angry because her parents never told her, she sets off in search of Alexej, a Russian sailor, who once loved her mother. With her elderly neighbour and her best friend, Kattaka makes her way to Poland. Together, the three embark on a quest to learn about their past, bridge the gaps between generations and rediscover themselves.
