"Spotlight Bauhaus" celebrates the German-American friendship with a street festival in downtown Atlanta. A highlight of the celebration is the light-artwork of URBANSCREEN, who find a surprising connection between Hip-Hop and Bauhaus.
The street festival will take place around the Fulton Central Public Library, which was designed by Bauhaus-architect Marcel Breuer.
The purist nature of the building will be set into motion by the light-art of URBANSCREEN. The dancers of Dance 411 are key components of the artwork on the façade.
A further highlight of the street festival is the mobile beer garden "Wiesn in a Box," which will be presented here for the first time. Cold Hofbräu beer and fresh pretzels will be available. Further information can be found under #wiesninabox.
"Spotlight Bauhaus" is one of three events in the series "Light-Art Meets German Architecture," which will take place as part of the opening of the Year of German-American Friendship "#WunderbarTogether - Germany and the U.S." We extend a heartfelt thank-you to our local partners, especially the City of Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, and Fulton County Arts and Culture.
