"Let’s Put the World Back in Children’s Hands"

The Green Academy offers exciting scientific experiments and philosophical discussions

The Green Academy offers children and young adults the opportunity to engage in German within these areas: scientific experiments, philosophy and sustainability. Each month, the Green Academy offers several 45-minute digital and interactive video lectures free of charge. Students aged 8-14 years can participate in fun online sessions which will be held from October to December 2020 in the Digital WanderbUS of the Goethe-Institut.

The sessions will feature a variety of topics, for example fascinating scientific experiments – of which several can be tried at home. They provide impulses for pondering about scientific phenomena. Students will acquire new perceptions on the world while simultaneously enhancing their German language skills.

Get a bucket of water and a glass! Now you’re ready to let German TV host Christoph Biemann show you that German and science go together. The Green Academy closes this year on December 10 at 12.30 PM (EST) with a lecture that proves that air is more than “nothing”. The lectures are designed to be interactive and take place live in the virtual "classroom" of the Digital Wanderbus. Both teachers and their students as well as private individuals, i.e. parents and their children, are cordially invited to register for these lectures. Suitable for kids ages 6 to 10.

Language level is A1 to A2. The Goethe-Institut will provide materials for follow-up (online) courses after event conclusion.

Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Due to high demand, it is recommended to register immediately. The virtual lectures are held via Zoom meetings to which participants will receive access codes. See you soon in the Green Academy!
