CáRô – an arts education programme initiated by Galerie Quynh – provides the skills to understand Contemporary Art with a focus on the local arts scene, grounded in the context of how Modern Art evolved around the world.
The project aims to supplement arts education for young people and students, aged 13 to 18 who are based in Ho Chi Minh City, having identified a lack of such education within the city and across Vietnam. Instead of solely focusing on art practice and technical skills, CáRô delivers a curriculum that stimulates formal visual analysis (through both a discursive and embodied means), research skills, and critical thinking.
This programme comprises two identical courses, differing only in their language of delivery (Vietnamese and English), which spans over the course of three weeks from 6 August to 23 August, 2020.
