German film festival in Vietnam
While his mother leaves for a rehab center and his father for a business trip with his secretary, 14-year-old Maik Klingenberg is about to hang around the pool his parents villa. But suddenly there is Tschick. Tschick is the nickname for Andrey Chichachev, son of Russian late repatriate. He has a borrowed a Lada. This marks the beginning of a summer journey without map or compass through the East-German province down to Wallachia.
studied at the College of Fine Arts, Berlin. His international success came through the melodrama "Gegen die Wand", for which he won the Golden Bear and the European Filmpreis in 2004. For "On the Other Side" (2007) he won the prize for the best screenplay in Cannes.
