Anne Zohra Berrached
Born 1982, in Erfurt, East Germany. After she got her degree in social education, with a focus on psychology in Frankfurt, she worked as a drama teacher in London for two years. After serving as a production assistant for the Berlin TV series Nacht-Taxe, her first short film PAUSENCLOWN was broadcasted on WDR. In 2009, she began to study directing at the Film Academy, Baden- Württemberg. Already in her third year, she completed her first feature film TWO MOTHERS. It premiered worldwide at the 63rd International Film Festival in Berlin in 2013. The feature has released in five countries as DVD, and has earned the “First Steps No Fear Award” and the “Dialogues en Perspective” of the section “Perspective German Cinema” at the Berlin Film Festival. Her second feature film 24WEEKS premiered at the Berlinale in Competition February 2016 and received 16 Awards until now, including three Awards for Best Director and the biggest German Film Award the Silver Lola.
