At the age of only 19, with a head full of dreams and hopes, Viet An Nguyen traveled to Germany to study. He arrived full of energy, well prepared, and with an independent mindset. But there is also a lot he did not know, things he had never experienced as he embarked on a new life in a foreign country, more than 6,000 miles from home and without any family or friends. Homesickness was the first hurdle he had to overcome.
This bold young man told us about his daily life (rent, bank account, how to cover his cost of living, dealing with red tape), his experiences, as well as how he made friends.
