Hanoi Dance Fest

The Hanoi Dance Fest was the epilogue of six years of Europe Meets Asia in Contemporary Dance.

The six performances by choreographers from Germany, Switzerland, France and Vietnam were shown on a long weekend in June.

James Sutherland and Tran Tien Huy had each prepared a dance piece at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. Three works by Hoang Lan Phuong (Baydance), Vu Ngoc Khai and Nguyen Duy Thanh were finacially supported by the Goethe-Institut. The pieces from France and Germany highlighted those particular connections that choreographers in the diaspora have made with their respective host countries. The audience was offered a wide range of new aesthetic impressions. For the artists the programme offered opportunities for exchange and cooperation with local dancer-colleagues and dance schools.
