Vocational Ballet School of Ho Chi Minh City

Prof. Dieter Heitkamp and Susanne Triebel (Frankfurt) run a training for lecturers and dancers of the Vocational Ballet School of Ho Chi Minh City from 14th to 24th July 2016.

In addition to practical training sessions focused on contact improvisation, the Frankfurt B.A. in Dance will be presented and participants will work on a concept for a Bachelor’s programme as well as the systematic approach to contemporary dance training.
 
Dieter Heitkamp studied Visual Arts and Sports in Berlin. He started his dance training in 1977 with contact improvisation, followed by various contemporary techniques. For over 30 years he has been studying, teaching and performing the technique of contact improvisation. He has created more than 18 pieces for ballet, theatre, video and television. His work was presented in Germany, Europe, Canada, USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Brazil. In 2001 he became professor for contemporary dance at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
 
Susanne Triebel started her dance training in Stuttgart and Cologne and holds an M.A. in contemporary dance pedagogy. Between her undergraduate studies and the master’s degree, she has danced in Münster, Mainz, Darmstadt, Gießen and was part of the independent dance scene in the Rhine-Main area. In addition to her career as a dancer she has created her own choreographies and soli, which have been invited to various dance and theatre festivals. Since 2011 she has been a lecturer and assistant for contemporary dance at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
