10 European culture institutions and Embassies in Hanoi, in collaboration with the National Studio for Documentary and Scientific Films, present 32 insightful and charismatic documentaries from Europe and Vietnam.

EUNIC and the National Studio for Documentary and Science Films once again invite audiences to immerse themselves in visual worlds of experience from a variety of cultures at the 8th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival.

A stimulating dialogue between European and Vietnamese documentaries will be created by the format of the festival. Thus, a total of 32 films will be shown on 10 festive days. Each evening a film from Vietnam will be followed by a film from France, Israel, Denmark, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria and Spain. In addition, filmmakers from DOCLAB, TPD and the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema will present independent documentaries.

The genre of the documentary has in recent years enjoyed ever increasing popularity worldwide. The open and genuine view of the world offers viewers an opportunity to question our handling of the environment and to gain an understanding of diverse realities and cultures through images.
With a focus on the subject of human rights, this year's film festival takes us through a wide program that tells stories: from honeybees, which are mysteriously disappearing more and more through to the career of Amy Winehouse and her tragically decease. From a man who devotes himself entirely to the trees, to another one who "repairs" women.

All entries will be screening from 9 – 18 June in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
