Professionals from Vietnam, France and Germany will share their experiences and insights about risky play.

Social and environmental factors are impacting children’s opportunities for outdoor risky play. Today’s children spend more time using ipads and watching television, than they being physically active outdoors. Parents are often too concerned about playíng outdoor games or exploring outdoor areas. Being too safety-obsessed can result in making children shy away, becoming less physically fit, underdeveloping over motoric skills, not learning how to assess and manage risk.

To share their views and experiences about the importance of “risky play”, professionals from France and Germany will share their practical experiences and insights from their respectivecountries with modern educational theories, to be adapted to the Vietnamese context. This seminar offers an opportunity for participants to get into dialogue with our guests on issues of life skill development, and more importantly, ways to engage children develop in harmony and happiness.

The seminar includes one hour for presentations and one hour for open discussion.

Think Playground and their partners invite parents, educators, architects to attend the seminar, and discuss with professionals and other people on this topic.
After this seminar, professionals will work with community in Dong Anh District to design a risky playground on Sunday.

This seminar is part of a series of events, called the Play Campaign. The aim is to build a dialogue with the community about the importance of playing for the mental and personality development of our children. The program is supported by the German- French Culture Program, the Goethe-Institut, the French Cultural Center L’Espace Hanoi and other sponsors and partners.
