a written and visual contemplation, on yearning
[khát] was created with inspirations and emotions evoked by the German-language poet, Rainer Maria Rilke and Vietnamese poet Xuân Diệu — both of whose creations are riddled with abstract imageries, intense feelings, and an undeniable underlying yearning.
Often associated with the queer literary circle, both Rilke and Xuân Diệu had utilised poetry as a means to express their longing for the lovers that were denied by society. This book invites you to contemplate and embrace the sensation of deep longing between and beyond these pages.
Delicately populated with original written and visual work by Linh and Hong Anh; this collection is a record of dialogues between two queer female voices, amidst the pandemic, during the rainy season in 2021 Saigon.
Due to Covid concerns, the space is limited to 20 attendees, and we recommend registering your place soon.
The project and event is supported by the Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City, and is a part of their Ignite Creativity Grant initiative.
