Yese Chezali from Tanzania
Could you tell us about yourself and your background?
My name is Yese Chezali Nyakunga from Tanzania. I'm a 25 year old health worker, working in the mental health department of Mirembe Hospital. To me, reading is extremely important. Through reading, I can increase my knowledge and educate my community about things like mental health and other communicable and non-communicable diseases.
What prompted you to participate in #libraryselfie2021, and how did you feel when you emerged as one of the winners?
I entered the competition because I was interested in the different awards. The awards would help me support my community through online learning and would help people learn more about libraries. Being a winner makes me happy, because I am now one of the people who can really make a difference in the community.
How has participating in #libraryselfie2021 contributed to your passion for reading and learning?
I am able to continue reading and learning, because I can now read things online and increase my knowledge.
As a #libraryselfie2021 winner in your country, how do you plan to continuously contribute to improving learning and reading through libraries?
I believe that I can contribute to the improvement of learning and reading through libraries by educating my community about mental health and encouraging them to further their studies and gain more knowledge.
