Nomakrestu Xakathugaga
Nomakrestu Xakathugaga is an indigenous contemporary African musician and performer. She uses various Africa instruments such as uhadi along with the beautiful sounds of umngqokolo (throat singing). Her music has been a central feature of many theatre productions, including the award winning Ityala Lamawele directed by Thando Doni and Mandla Mbothwe and Nwabisa Plaatjie's adaptation of The Native Who Caused all the Trouble and as an actress she has taken on many main roles, including The Holy Plan...B by Thandolwethu Mzembe for which she won the Zabalaza Best Actress award. She has performed with the poetry of Lingua Franca both locally and internationally. She has performed in her own live, music shows since 2014.
 
She performed Untitled directed by Chuma Sopotela in  Friche la Belle De Mai Festival  France. She was part of Dance Can Dance directed by Elvis Sibeko as a singer and Kingdom of Ubuntu the Musical at Artscape Theatre Centre.

She has performed at Magnet Theatre iKrele Le Chiza ( the Sermon) directed by Mandla mbothwe choreographed by Mzokuthula Gasa Musical director by Babalwa Makwethu and Devised and created by the cast.

She has also thought music in a EPWP program in Rainbow arts organization.
