Power Party Project Manager

Lex LaFoy is a South African rapper, writer, entrepreneur and creative project manager from Durban. Lex made a name for herself as a freestyle, battle emcee and performance poet under the moniker Lexikon.

Making her debut into mainstream media, she was selected to represent her city in the first ever MTV Base VJ search in 2005. She has been nominated for Best Female and Best Mixtape in the first ever South African Hip Hop Awards. She was one of 30 South African artists to be selected for the Red Bull Bass Camp. Lex LaFoy, with DJ Doowap, represented South Africa in the Purple Velvet all-female hip-hop tour across Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Lex has  performed at the first South African edition of Lyricist Lounge (USA), renowned for their work alongside Eminem, and Talib Kweli.

She is the director of Heartistree Productions’, whose portfolio includes that of creative agency, sourcing background actors for Queen Sono directed by Kagiso Lediga on Netflix.

Lex is the co-founder of Maleningi Records where she served as Artist and Project Manager. She is the host, writer and producer of The Wealth & Wellness Show on Durban Youth Radio (DYR 105.1fm). Recently, she was one of 25 young South Africans selected in the Business and Art South Africa (BASA) Cultural Producers Programme. She is the music curator and Project Manager of the POWER PARTY, part of the Durban Power Talks Programme.
