Simphiwe Mlambo
Simphiwe Mlambo is currently perusing a masters in architecture the Graduate School of Architecture (GSA) at the University of Johannesburg. Stemming from her home language housed in two countries (ESwatini and South Africa), manifesting in fractured recollections of belonging in space, her interests ascribe to theories of territory, in-betweenness and the black body. Her work sits at the intersection of the speculative and pragmatic, utilising devices that traverse narrative, performance, the cartography, forensic drawing, and film making as spatial geographies situating her work between the past and present to depict alternate black spatial imaginaries.
