Bantu Lab is a creative spatial agency that comprises architects, urban designers and planners. We are interested in urban culture as it pertains to spaces created, inhabited and shaped by black people. Our work is centred on the documentation, visualisation and building prototypes that respond to black spatial imageries. We look at black spaces from the perspective of what they can offer and have historically offered into the development of urban space; sustaining communities and creating cultural economies. Our aim is to document and celebrate black spaces, through sharing knowledge of our lived experiences, and visual speculations. Our work looks at decoding spaces and networks that define the complexity of urban life and the interconnectedness of urban growth and street dynamics.
