Facilitator – Masterclasses on Marketing

Context

Cav’ Creative Economies is a Goethe-Institut initiative that comprises the two projects Cav’ Platform and Cav’ Township. The programme aims to contribute to the creative and cultural industries in South Africa, through enabling creative organisations and small businesses towards income generation. In 2023, the Cav’ Creative Economies project has a particular focus on supporting gender transformation within the Culture and Creative Industries (CCI). Thus, the four training programmes implemented are only targeted at women participants.

Objective

Through different training programmes, the Cav’ Creative Economies project supports young creative practitioners towards more sustainable income generation . For these young professionals to be able to market their businesses more successfully, the Goethe-Institut seeks to run Masterclasses on marketing strategies and skills. This should increase the visibility of the businesses to help generate more income and diversify their markets.

Deliverables:

The selected service provider will fulfil the following in October/ November 2023:

Conduct 3 Masterclasses für 20-30 participants per masterclass in different locations within Gauteng.

  1. Each masterclass should run for two days.
    The Goethe-Institut will provide venue, catering, equipment and stationery
    Outcomes of the training should include, but are not limited to:
    i. Understanding the key elements of marketing
    ii. Understanding the basics of market research and marketing analytics
    iii. Introduction to digital tools for marketing
    iv. Understanding the key elements of branding. 
  2. Submit a post-training report.
Essential elements of the proposal
  1. Submit a Masterclass proposal that includes detailed approach and training modules, previous training record, as well as facilitator’s profile
  2. Detailed budget including all required services and VAT
Criteria for selection

Submissions after the deadline will not be considered. The evaluation of bids consists of two parts: Price (50%), quality of offer/proposal (50%).
 
Eligibility criteria:

- Experience in delivering trainings within the CCI sector
- Strong Marketing and communications background of facilitators
- Proposals from women or female led businesses are encouraged

About the project “Cultural and Creative Industries"

The project “Cultural and Creative Industries” is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. It improves employment and income opportunities for creative professionals in six partner countries; Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa and operates mainly in the music, fashion, design and animation sectors. In addition to promoting the development of entrepreneurial, digital, creative and technical skills through training programmes, the project aims to strengthen the framework conditions and the ecosystem of the cultural and creative industries.
