The 2017 Johannesburg International Mozart Festival (JIMF) will explore historic and ongoing interrelationships between art music and folk music(s). Three young South African composers, Lungiswa Plaatjies, Kingsley Buitendag and Prince Bulo worked under the guidance of resident composer Neo Muyanga on the mixing and re-working of Western Art Music and African Art Music.
The Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the JIMF and Neo Muyanga, present the outcomes of this new music collaboration entitled “Re Mixing Music”.
