On the last day of 1795, Friedrich Hölderlin and Susette Gontard met each other for the very first time. It was the beginning of one of the most beautiful love stories in world literature. While their love could not last in real life, it continues to live in poems and letters. The event is presented by Johannesburg’s Society of German Language and will be in German.
