A decade of spontaneous and collaborative life-writing and archiving has produced this collection of audio-visual poems documenting the life of actor and domestic worker, Grace Mothiba Bapela. Her stories - explored and interpreted in collaboration with artist Lindiwe Matshikiza - form both a complex, intimate portrait of one woman, and a subtle examination of migrancy and South African class, race, economic and social dynamics over the past fifty years. The work will be unveiled for the first time in Ms Bapela’s home village in Ga-Mothapo, Limpopo for an audience of local community members.

One Take Grace is produced by Mother Box: Organisation for Cooperation in the Arts in partnership with the Goethe-Institut South Africa as part of the Goethe-Institut Project Space (GPS), the National Arts Council of South Africa and Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The presentation of One Take Grace in Ga-Mothapo is made possible with the partnership of Sunshine Cinema.
