Teka Films in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Ouagadougou, presents BURKINABE, a film written and directed by Nthato Mokgata (known in the music world as Spoek Mathambo) and theatre practitioner Carla Fonseca. The experimental film project is a collaboration between production, cast and crew from South African and Burkina Faso respectively, who endeavoured to make a minimal budget "road film" across Burkina Faso in the spirit of skills sharing and cross continental cooperation. The film is a dramatic investigation of African youth battling with the tension between their rural roots and their urban realities/dreams.
