African folktales are cultural time capsules and their storytellers are keepers of history and cultural identity. They have been used to teach morality and provide social and political commentary as well as providing a lens through which to view the world. The panel will explore the mechanics of the rich oral traditions alongside immersive and interactive technologies. Panelists will explore how traditional content can be reconstructed and how the essence of these traditions can be applied to create digital stories relevant to Africans.
