The Linden Market and the Goethe-Institut are excited to announce their partnership, focusing on sustainability: the two organisations have joined hands to bring a brand-new addition to the Linden Market - a block dedicated to Pre-loved items only. Jozi’s favorite family market will take place on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of October, set in the exquisite Botanical Gardens of Emmarentia.
“The Pre-Loved is Re-Loved Block” integrates our communities with the international trend of sustainability - one of the key elements of conscious living across the globe.
In Germany, markets and second-hand shopping have long been an integral part of social life, providing a great opportunity for a fun shopping experience on the one hand and a more conscious way of consumption. Additionally, it is a great place to find absolute steals – even more important in times of tighter budgets due to covid.
Traditional retailers are slowly catching on to the secondhand movement, which comes as no surprise seeing as though there are more secondhand buyers than ever before. The Goethe-Institut is now calling for interested people to apply for a stand in the TLM Pre-Loved is Re-Loved Block: for a stand fee of R250 per day, you get the opportunity to sell your pre-loved items, enjoy the great vibes at The Linden Market and play your part in a more sustainable way of living. You do not have to have a formalized business for this: whether you want to sell your kiddies’ old toys, clean out your closet or want to give some of your furniture a new home, you are welcome to apply through the following link:
