A space for conversation about the nuanced forms, dynamics and functions of power in creative and cultural sectors in South Africa.
Much like many other cities, the spatial arrangements defy strict binaries between the formal and informal, and users of city space shape what forms in sense of culture. This is also notwithstanding the power that not only locates power, value and property as operate and continues to structure material and affective senses of space, culture and art practice. There is a sense of troubling the effects of various disciplinary formations and where or how they put in place sensibilities that are embedded in our publics about the proper subject of politics that we connect along with also perhaps what sits a subtle comment on some of the more authoritative orientations particularly embedded in visual histories, and continued practice that might be more apparent in who, and how the set of conversations are shaped in this programme.
