#ImaginationNights is a new series of pitching & networking sessions hosted by entrepreneurs working from Hub@Goethe.

Join Nthato Malope from Chicken Yethu for the 4th installment of our #ImaginationNights series as he takes you on a journey to think differently about chicken and how it can not only be deliciously affordable to the people to whom it matters most but with a little imagination & an entrepreneurial spirit, the chicken business can be a profitable way to help ordinary South African create a better life for themselves.
  • South Africans consume over 3-Billion tons of chicken per year and yet the story behind our chicken consumption as a country is an indicator of the socio-economic imbalances we still experience as a growing economy.
  • While the rest of us are unaware, at least 1 in 3 South Africans are only able to afford the cheaper, often over priced chicken innards and not finger licking, golden pieces of delight most of us enjoy. This is also very often their only source of meat based protein.
  • At Chicken Yethu (‘Our Chicken’ in English), we’re on a mission to use the mighty chicken & the power of entrepreneurship to not only supply the freshest chicken innards experience but to use the business as a low entry investment vehicle for some of the poorest South Africans.
