Sarah-Jane Dickenson

Sarah-Jane Dickenson teaches in the Department of Drama and Music at University of Hull. The present focus of her research is the Transitions Project, a theatre project involving eighteen secondary schools, prison inmates and undergraduate students. The central theme is conflict potential in transitional processes and engages especially with the assimilation problems experienced by the children of eastern European migrant workers in British society. She has primarily focused on writing and directing large cast pieces for young people, while her mainstream works such as “The Dark Room”, “All Things Nice” and “The Big Heart” have all been highly praised.
